Firefly Goes Global
Adobe has taken another leap forward by extending Firefly's text prompt support to over 100 languages in the Photoshop beta. This remarkable update means that users around the world can now engage with these powerful tools in their preferred language, fostering a truly inclusive global creative environment.
From Generative Fill to Generative Expand
Adobe Firefly is an impressive suite of generative AI models that powers Generative Fill. These models are not only high-performing but are also designed with safety in mind, especially for commercial usage. The training of these AI models has been carried out on an extensive range of data sources, including Adobe Stock imagery, openly licensed work, and content from the public domain whose copyright has expired. This broad dataset ensures a well-rounded training, allowing Adobe Firefly to generate high-quality and diverse output. Generative Fill, powered by Adobe Firefly, is currently available in the Photoshop (beta) app. However, it's crucial to note that content generated by Adobe Firefly within this beta version is not allowed for commercial use.
Photoshop is further enhancing its Generative AI capabilities by introducing the Generative Expand. This new workflow aims to simplify image expansion beyond their original aspect ratios. Imagine having an image that doesn't quite fit your desired layout, or a key object misaligned with other parts of the image. Generative Expand provides a solution. After choosing the Crop tool and clicking "Generate," AI steps in to fill the extra canvas with content that blends seamlessly with the rest of the image. Generative Expand can work with or without a text prompt. If you choose not to use a prompt, Photoshop will fill in the expanded canvas automatically. When using a prompt, Photoshop will generate the expansion based on your entered instructions. The new content is added in a non-destructive manner in a fresh Generative Layer, letting you focus more on creativity and less on the technicalities of editing.
