Romain Huet, the Head of Developer Experience at OpenAI, recently showcased the new features of GPT-4o at the Viva Technology conference in Paris, France. During the demo, various new capabilities of GPT-4o, also known as "omni," were highlighted. This model enhances GPT-4's capabilities across text, voice, and vision, making it faster and more efficient. The demo demonstrated the model's ability to understand and interact with images, videos, voice, and translation.

One of the standout features of GPT-4o is its improved real-time voice interaction, allowing for more natural conversations. Future updates will enable real-time video interactions, where users can show ChatGPT video content and ask for explanations in real-time. Additionally, GPT-4o supports numerous languages, enhancing accessibility and usability for a global audience.

These updates aim to make advanced AI tools more accessible and useful, with features like data analysis, chart creation, photo discussions, and file uploads for summarizing and writing assistance. The new features are being rolled out to both free and paid users, with varying limits based on the subscription level.
